PMI-PBA® Exam Preparation course
Business Analysis is the application of knowledge, competencies, tools, and techniques to frame business issues and identify business needs; identify and suggest possible solutions to meet those needs; elicit, document, and manage stakeholder requirements to achieve project objectives; and facilitate project or programme product, service, or result realization.
The course is aimed at all those who wish to obtain the PMI® Professional in Business Analysis Certificate. Furthermore, it can be useful to all those who, in their professional sphere, need to know about and use the methodology, the techniques and the tools pertaining to Business Analysis, because they are involved in performing business analysis in projects or programmes, regardless of whether they are professionally qualified as business analysts. Specifically, project leaders, team leaders, and business analysts who, within a project or a programme, are tasked with the collection, analysis, and documentation of requirements, and the detailed scope definition aimed at defining possible business solutions.
No minimum prerequisites are required: the course kicks off with the definitions of business analysis and requirements, and proceeds to define the five main areas of Business Analysis: Needs Assessment, Planning, Analysis, Traceability and Monitoring, and Evaluation; and the various models, tools, and techniques to be used in each. The requirements needed to be admitted to take the exam are: attendance of a 35-hour course on Business Analysis topics, a declaration attesting possession of a higher education certificate (degree or diploma), and a minimum number of hours of experience in Business Analysis of projects.
The course is aimed at instilling into the participants the knowledge of the various techniques used to assess business, to elicit and analyse requirements, to manage the main stakeholders identified for business analysis, to propose a business solution, to trace, and to monitor. On completion of the course, participants will be able to plan a business analysis, elicit and analyse requirements by using various models, diagrams, and tables, and propose the most practicable solution to be submitted for realisation to the developers or to those members of the project team tasked with realising the scope.
The proposed methodology involves:
- Five days (35 hours) of classroom lectures.
- Classroom exercises to facilitate the absorption of the taught topics.
The course is structured to provide all the technical knowledge needed to manage Business Analysis in projects or programmes. To facilitate learning in adherence with the logics required to pass the exam the structure of the course follows the schematic put forward in the PMI® Business Analysis for Practitioners: A Practice Guide.
