The Digital Health Impact Framework (DHIF) is a ten-step methodology from an Asian Development Bank project in 2018. It helps Ministries of Health and health systems in their project and investment decision making. The purpose is to create and evaluate digital health options for projects, then identify the options that offer affordable Value for Money (VFM) and reduce and mitigate risk. Although there are manuals to step people through this strategy, this course covers the principles of the steps, DHIF’s architecture and how to apply them to participants’ real-life projects. It concludes with a hands-on application of the DHIF methodology to participants’ real-life projects. In addition to the 5 lessons, the course presenters will be available online to work with you to ensure you understand and answer any questions you may have throughout the course.
This course is designed to give a certificate of completion but will also build your skills and knowledge and give you an introduction to the industry which the Masters of eHealth and Telemedicine belongs to and will give you more knowledge and insight and which is an internationally recognized qualification. If you would like to complete the Masters you will be given a 10% discount into this program with this certificate.
During the course, participants will progress toward attainment of the following objectives:
- Identify the architecture, characteristics and the roles of a DHIF model
- Understand the concepts and methodology using illustrative DHIF models
- Apply DHIF to real-life projects
- Review DHIF illustrative models
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Understand and develop investment goals linked to health, health care, and digital health strategies
- Define the different stakeholders’ types, user requirements and required functionality
- How to develop the architecture and content of a DHIF model
- Identify the appropriate network requirements, and data and capacity dependencies from other digital health investments
- Develop personal skills in stakeholder engagement, human capacity building in using the DHIF and change management skills
This program is designed to help people learn about, develop and apply the skills to set up and use DHIF models. You can start with a small-scale DHIF health model, then move progressively to larger-scale models. It will equip you to gradually increase your modeling skills and experience to deal with the increasing complexity of digital health investment. Course presenters will be available online to support participants in developing their own real-life DHIF models as part of their action learning.
