Andrea Galatà

After earning his Law degree from the University of Catania with a dissertation on the influence of the cinematographic media on the evolution of law-making, in 2013, he additionally achieved a research doctorate in Communication for the “Privacy and Development” lab of the Italian Data Protection Authority.

As a Communication lecturer, he teaches Public Speaking and Leadership.

As an actor, director, screenwriter, choreographer and dancer, he has taught acting, diction and contemporary dance in numerous schools, the Sicilian main Film Acting School “Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia Siciliano” among others. Furthermore, he coaches several actors starring in films and TV series.

As an artist, he has been an established professional in the film, TV and theatre industry for more than 20 years and has appeared in film and TV productions such as Baci SalatiNativeUn Uomo NuovoDue Imbroglioni e Mezzo 2Stare FuoriQuo Vadis Baby?La Vita Rubata.

In 2011, he was head of Video Communication for the “Privacy and Development” lab at the Office of the Italian Data Protection Authority.

In 2012, the President of the Italian Republic bestowed the “Stella della Civicrazia”, the Medal of Honour for Civil Merit in Arts, on him for his commitment to social activities and art, and, in 2013, he was elected President of the Movimento per la Cultura.

In the same year, he produced and directed the multi-award winning international experimental web series The Ushers, through which he developed an innovative production model and exploited the possibilities the new media tools and platforms offer to the film industry.
